if you love spring and the promise of new life, this painting is for you. lilies always seem to signal hope for me, and my wish is that you would feel that when you look at this painting.
the black backgrounds are designed to remind you that even in the darkest time, good things are blooming. there is always something positive to cling to--a light in the darkness. something to keep you hoping. my son, Henry, says they are like neon signs--shining in the dark 😍
Loosely based on real-life plants, (stargazer Lily, black eyed susan + chamomile, safflower and some sort of daisy type thing). My mom had the prettiest stargazer lilies--if you haven't seen one in person go find some! So pretty! I hope you enjoy this sparkling bit of hope!
please note that the vibrant colors and also the black are surprisingly hard to photograph!! They are so much more interesting + nuanced IRL.
