Rx: keep it simple (1)
'Rx: keep it simple (1)' is a reminder that sometimes we become overwhelmed by ALL OF THE THINGS we have to do, we think we need a huge multi-step plan including a morning routine and apple cider vinegar and probably also a journal/planner system and elliptical machine. KEEP IT SIMPLE. what is one thing that would help right now? start there + add more on when you are ready ❤
'Rx: keep it simple (1)' has a sister painting--I was so charmed by their simple beauty that I did not add all the trappings that are in the other paintings. They are perfectly enough as they are ❤
ABOUT THE COLLECTION:
'Rx: keep it simple (1)' is a part of my flower medicine collection--paintings created while I was feeling overwhelmed, frustrated, sad and hopeless about a medical condition I was experiencing in December 2024.
One day, I picked up the paintbrush and out came flowers. As I painted them, my spirits began to lift and I started to actively attempt to infuse joy and hope into my painting.
Each one is different, but they share many transparent layers of paint (many mixed with my favorite color: fluorescent magenta), paint splatters and drips, collaged on polka dots + stripes. Some have crackle paste or modeling paste; all of them have my desire to reach out to you + have you believe it will get better as well.
This flower bouquet is your medicine 😚 hang it on your wall or give it to a friend who needs it.
did you know this painting has a bunch of "sisters"? there are around 10 smaller paintings in this collection (can't remember exactly how many, lol) ranging from 6x6, 6x8 and 8x8. they look great alone and as a cluster of art!
This painting was made on 6x6" cradled hardboard that has 2" sides. It was painted with acrylic + varnished with a clear coat, and is wired on the back for hanging.
