this painting invokes summer days + innocence; playing outside + sun-kissed noses. the butterfly symbolizes the freedom to be the person you were always meant to become.
I painted this in 2024 when I was beginning to explore portraiture--before all the "wild faces" and bold colors.
This is an acrylic painting on sketchbook paper -9x12". These sketchbook paintings occasionally have extra marks on the page (front or back) that let you know they were painted by a real person in a sketchbook :)
please note I do my absolute best to make the photos match the real-life paintings, but it is a challenge with my vibrant color palette! Most of the time, paintings look much more vibrant in real life, but just be aware that there may be discrepancies between what you see on screen and the actual product.
